Hi,

My friend suggest me to use your tool for back up my data to Amazon.com, so i am new to SDB Explorer and i have downloaded SDB Explorer to backup my database to Amazon.com. I think i need Access and Secret keys to start working with SDB Explorer. I would like to know what does it mean by access key and secret key and from where i can get these Access and Secret keys?

Hi Valentina,

AWS Access key is just like a user-name. It's just a text string that uniquely identifies you to access your account on Amazon SimpleDB. But this key alone is insecure. To make the operations secure Amazon provides another key known as AWS Secret key. AWS Secret key is just like a password. Before doing any operation a user has to provide these two keys for authentication.
