Support for SDBExplorer - A Simple Database Explorer for Amazon's SimpleDB

Next releases?

Postby Frederic Meunier » Oct 20th, '09, 16:08

We are using SimpleDB Explorer for several months now. It’s a great work you have done here!
But, we frequently encounter some problems while using SimpleDB Explorer:
- some “order by” clauses are ignored;
- updating item with null or blank attribute is not possible;
- copying attribute must be done in “Update Item Row” view;
- sometime “Update Item Row” view is blank;
- sometime there are missing items;

Are these bugs in your roadmap? When will we have a new release?
Thanks for answering!

Thanks Frederic for your feedback.

some “order by” clauses are ignored
.

We aren't ignored any thing In terms of query, it is being executed directly from Amazon SimpleDB. If you have any difficulties in terms of run query; you can view our documentation page.

updating item with null or blank attribute is not possible

This is a bug. We we'll fix it in next release.

copying attribute must be done in “Update Item Row” view

it's a good suggestion and we will review it for the next release".

sometime “Update Item Row” view is blank & sometime there are missing items;

This would be due to technical difficulties i.e network connection problem.

Thanks again. We will soon let you know about our next release.

If you use "Run Query" with a "select" statement ("select * from ..."), and try to update a resulting row, you obtain a blank TABLE of attributes in the "Update Item Row" view.

Thanks in reference of tracking issue. May we know, does it (obtaining the blank table) happen randomly OR always, when you run select query ?
